A Survey of Phnom Penh Apartment Shophouses’ Conditions for Future Housing Adaptability Revitalization in Phnom Penh

Abstract Phnom Penh, Cambodia, has planned to be one of the liveable and sustainable cities by improving living quality citizens. However, new developments (high-rise apartments, townhouses, office buildings) have ignored neighbourhood conditions (mixed use dense) caused urban gentrifications. Moreover, study also shows that generations prefer a good home design responding needs lifestyles. These address opportunities for pursuing solutions according policies, people’s preferences, pain points existing housing designs. A typical residential type in Penh is Apartment Shophouses. In past, they were row two-story buildings located city areas. The ground units business purposes, while upper floors multi-family accessing from courtyard middle. Presently, Shophouses changed into 5-6 story, diversified-use, lively buildings. Nevertheless, lack maintenance, poor daylight, ventilation. According policies residents’ these challenges revitalization an adaptable, lifestyle building generations. investigates adaptive 40 residents via online questionnaires 10 interviews. results show weak with improvement based on Open Building approach.

We describe 58 adult patients with melioidosis in Cambodia (2007-2010). Diabetes was the main risk factor (59%); 67% of infections occurred during the rainy season.
